Brayden Schenn gets cut by skate, scores game winning goal

For the people who say that hockey players are the toughest athletes in all of sports, Brayden Schenn of the Philadelphia Flyers is helping back up that claim.

Schenn suffered a gash in his abdomen during the second period of the Flyers 3-2 overtime win against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night when he checked Dainius Zubrus into the boards and Zubrus' skate slashed Schenn across the stomach and he immediately fell to the ground in pain.

Schenn did not miss a beat though, he returned to the game minutes later and eventually scored the game winning goal.

As one announcer said during the game, "that's hockey."

Check out a video below of Schenn's cut and game-winner in overtime. (Video Courtesy NHL, via Youtube.)
